Lorry wedged under railway bridge in Plymouth
Trains into Plymouth were temporarily stopped yesterday after a lorry struck a bridge.
Police and railway engineers were called to Ashford Hill Bridge in Ashford Hill in Mannamead, Plymouth, at 11:36am.
The cream-coloured Mercedes lorry was jammed under the centre of the bridge.
A police spokesman said: "Trains were temporarily stopped but are now moving with caution."

Network Rail engineers were called to asses the damage to the bridge, which has a height restriction on 10ft 9ins (3.3 metres).
Keith Lumley, from Network Rail, said: “Devon and Cornwall Police reported a HGV was stuck under the bridge. The signaller was advised and turned all signals to red.
“A Network Rail member of staff was on site at 12.15pm who gave authority for trains to run with a 20mph restriction.
“There was no damage to railway lines and at 12.40pm bridge examiners advised trains could travel at normal speed.”
There was a delay of 22 minutes to the 10am train service from Penzance to London Paddington and to all other services there was a five minute delay.
The driver, a 52-year-old man from Plymouth, did not sustain any injuries.
