Police, the fire brigade and a local farmer are at the scene of a lorry crash in North Devon.

Emergency services were called to East Ball Hill in Hartland at 9.10am today after reports a lorry had become stuck.

One fire crew from Hartland found A white silver Mercedes lorry, which is fully laden with sand, completely stuck between a house and a high stone wall.

The lorry driver was temporarily trapped in he cabin, say police.

A police spokeswoman said: "The arctic lorry driver was freed from the cabin and is communicating with police. A local farmer is also at the scene trying to help out."

Firefighters are awaiting the arrival of specialist rescue equipment organised by the police and a structual engineer from Torridge District Council to asses the damage.
