Lottery funding helps Sirona engage NEET people
Sirona Therapeutic Horsemanship in Totnes, Devon, is "thrilled" to have been awarded £9,784 of lottery funding which will be used to help engage NEET (those not in education, employment or training) young people as well as those with behavioural difficulties in horse riding. "Sirona is always in need of funds towards our horse and general running costs in order to be able to offer Therapeutic Horsemanship sessions at subsidised rates," said Hannah Burgon who set up the project in 2006 which is now registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC). "Our therapeutic work aims to provide young people and adults with the opportunity to participate in educational and therapeutic activities with horses in a natural environment." In addition Sirona also received £3,000 from the Devon County Council which will be used towards the purchase of harness and tack and an iBex chariot which is a specially designed lightweight cart for wheelchair users that can go on and off road. Sirona is also urgently looking for more horses on loan. They are especially in need of a weight-carrying cob, a ride and drive would be a bonus, between 14.2-15.2hh. The cob must be sound and have a calm, kind temperament. If you can help, please call Hannah on 07958 356114 or e-mail email@example.com
