Plymouth man admits affray at a family lunch
A MAN has admitted an affray involving a knife at a family lunch.
Lee Rust, aged 38, was warned by a judge at Plymouth Crown Court that he could have killed someone during the incident over Sunday lunch.
Rust, now staying at the Salvation Army hostel in Park Avenue, Devonport, admitted the public order offence. He was originally charged with attempting to maliciously wound his stepfather with intent. But the Crown Prosecution Service has said it will offer no evidence at the sentencing hearing.
A previous hearing before magistrates heard the offence happened at a family dinner over a Sunday lunchtime at Luxmore Close in Leigham. Rust was said to have picked up a kitchen knife.

Nobody was injured during the incident. But recorder Rosie Collins told him: "The very possession of a knife in circumstances like that can be extremely dangerous. These situations can so often lead to a death in a family, though that may not be the intention."
Recorder Collins asked for a probation officer to prepare a report on his background. He will return for sentence on December 21.
