Man charged after woman left with serious back injuries

A man has been charged in connection with a serious assault that left a woman in hospital.

The incident took place just after midnight on Friday, February 15 at an address in Whipton Barton.

Simon Cole, of Exeter, has been charged with wounding in connection with the assault on the 45-year-old woman who sustained serious back injuries.

He was arrested during the evening of Wednesday February 27 and later interviewed at Heavitree Road Police station.
