A man has died at Plymouth's Naval Base in Devonport.

Police were called to Devonport Dockyard at around 3.10pm yesterday after receiving a report that a man had collapsed whilst working on dockside equipment.

The 53-year-old local man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Enquiries are continuing into the cause of death.

The Coroner and the Health and Safety Executive have been informed.
