Man knocked out and robbed in Tiverton park
A 24-year-old man was assaulted and robbed in Tiverton by three men.
The man, from Tiverton, was walking through People’s Park in the early hours of Saturday morning when he was struck on the back of the head from behind.

The blow knocked him to the ground and he lost consciousness.
When he came to he was lying on his back with three men around him, one of whom was removing his wallet and tobacco from his pocket.

The offenders made off with the victim’s wallet which is distinctive and in the shape of Zippy’s head, the character from the television programme Rainbow. The wallet contained £65.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the assault which happened around 1am on 8 September. The men were all described as white; one was tall with a bald head and another was shorter and wearing a yellow T-shirt.
The victim had previously walked through the Market area, into Castle Street, through Bartows Causeway before heading into People’s Park.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or anyone who has information about the assault is asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference KT/12/1427.
