Man's leg broken after truck he was directing hit him

A WORKMAN was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured leg after a truck he was assisting collided with him, police say.

The incident in Lyndhurst Road, Beacon Park, was reported to emergency services at about 1.05pm yesterday.

It involved a Ford Transit tipper truck.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The workman was assisting the truck with reversing when it hit him.

"He was taken to Derriford Hospital with a suspected fractured leg. His injuries were not thought to be life threatening."
