A MAN was left with facial injuries after being punched while he sat with his partner in a fast-food outlet, police say.

Officers are trying to trace the man pictured right in CCTV stills taken from the Favourite Foods takeaway in Union Street.

PC Angela Turner, who is investigating the alleged assault, said the victim, a man in his 40s, was with a female when another customer began abusing him.

The culprit was reported to have made homophobic comments before punching the victim in the face.
