A MAN woke up to find his bedroom on fire just before midnight in Knighton Road St Judes.

Two fire crews from Greenbank were sent to the blaze involving a gas fire and clothing.

Everyone was evacuated from the property before the arrival of fire crews.

The fire was extinguished by fire crews using two breathing apparatus wearers and one hose reel jet.

Fire crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the property.

The accidental fire has left the first floor of the property badly damaged by heat and smoke.
