Market to get advertising cash
Tiverton Pannier Market is set to benefit from a five figure investment in advertising and promotion to attract more shoppers to visit its stalls.
A decision was taken last week to allocate a total of £10,000 for a number of new initiatives in the Mid Devon District Council-run market to bring in shoppers and to boost the town as a whole.
This will include advertising, marketing and promoting new events including a weekly local producers market every Thursday and an arts, crafts and gifts market once a month on a Wednesday.
Funding will also be directed to highlight an annual programme of events and themed markets as well as existing market days too.
The £10,000 sum has been allocated from the Local Authority Business Growth Incentives funding by cabinet member for planning and economic regeneration Cllr Richard Chesterton.
The council says public consultation has identified a need for advertising to promote the market.
