Marsh-Brown blames questionable half-time tweet on brother

Yeovil Town attacker Keanu Marsh-Brown has apologised and blamed his brother for a tweet sent by his account just minutes after his substitution at Leyton Orient.

The former Arsenal and Fulham youngster was recalled to the starting XI by manager Gary Johnson for the clash at The Matchroom Stadium.

However, with the Glovers trailing 2-0 and Marsh-Brown failing to have the desired impact he was replaced by Gozie Ugwu at the interval.

As the two teams started the second half, a message reading "?????????????????????????????" appeared on the 20-year-old's Twitter account @KMarshBrown, before being deleted when supporters retweeted it.

After the match Johnson said the summer signing must have been questioning his own performance, insisting that would be the only way to improve.

But shortly before midday yesterday Marsh-Brown explained on the social network: "Apologise for the tweet last night my little brother had access to my twitter."

When asked on Tuesday about the message, Johnson said: "I haven't seen it but I will have a look at it and if it is only question marks he is allowed to do that.

"He must be questioning his performance.

"If he isn't then he isn't going to improve because he didn't do anything on the day. We had him out there to go one versus one – he knew that.

"He played really well against West Bromwich Albion and had a couple of really good games but on Tuesday, for whatever reason, he didn't do his job and of you don't do your job I have got to make the change.

"There were a few others that didn't either but I just felt he was not quite up to it on the day."

Rohan Ince made his full debut at centre-half against Orient but capped a disappointing display when he limped off with a recurrence of the ankle injury sustained in pre-season at Newport County.

Johnson fears the youngster will have to return to parent club Chelsea for treatment but suggested captain Jamie McAllister could be in line for a recall following suspension, despite the form of left-back Nathan Ralph.

"I don't think Ralphy has been our problem, to be honest, and for a young lad to come in and do what he has done will keep him in real good stead when he has to come in again," he said.

"But Jamie is the pro with the experience, he knows what is needed and is obviously likely to come back in."

Johnson remained coy about the possibility of bolstering his squad with loan signings, but said after making four changes to the starting line-up at Orient he knew exactly who is and who is not in his plans from the players currently at his disposal.

He said: "I will keep that in my head. I have got to keep going. I know what I have got in my mind and I know who is and who isn't. Hopefully in time that will all come out."
