Miliband to champion vocational skills
Ed Miliband will today reveal radical plans for a "gold standard" A level-style qualification for technical skills.
A Labour government will provide a world-class education for the "forgotten 50%" of young people who don't go to university, he will say.
The party would hand the entire £1 billion apprenticeship budget to businesses to ensure skills meet demand.
In his keynote speech, the Labour leader will say: "I want ours to be a country where kids aspire not just to go to Oxford and Cambridge but to excellent technical colleges and elite vocational institutions."
