THE MILITARY Wives choir will be putting on their hiking boots as they join a charity walk.

The Children's Hospice South West's Moonlight Memory Walk will be joined by the singers as they perform at the moving Memory Ceremony. A number of the choir will then set off along the inspiring five-mile sponsored walk with other fundraisers.

Emma Lloyd, head of fundraising at the charity, said: "We are really looking forwards to our Moonlight Memory Walk later on this month and are so thrilled the Military Wives will be joining us.

"It is such a special evening and to have the choir performing at the candlelit ceremony will add even more to the amazing atmosphere."

The Moonlight Memory Walk is a ladies-only five-mile hike beginning at 8pm at The Piazza on September 29. Fundraisers will be entertained with music by Pirate FM's Neil Caddy and then the Military Wives. The ceremony is held around hundreds of glowing candle bags as the centrepiece, allowing those present to celebrate the reason for their fundraising efforts.

Heading off as the clock strikes 10pm, the group will trek along the city's sights including the seafront and the Citadel walls.

Becki Fleming, one of the Military Wives, said: "The Moonlight Memory Walk is a wonderful event that we are delighted to support. Here's to a great evening for an amazing cause; now I just need to dust off my sparkly deely-boppers!".

To join in the parade, visit www.chsw.org.uk/memorywalks or call 01726 871800.
