Morchard progress in cup with 10 men thanks to keeper error
MORCHARD Bishop had to dig deep to reach the quarter-finals of the East Devon Senior Cup at the expense of Division One side Wellington Town.
The Mid Devon outfit played 70 minutes a man short but edged through 2-1 as the Wellies' keeper made a real howler for the winning goal, diving under the ball from a late free-kick.

Thorverton called off their game with Heavitree as the Raddon Road pitch was still unfit for play, but they will be hoping for a match this weekend when they are at fellow stragglers Exmouth Amateurs.
Firewatch Devon Senior Cup holders Bow AAC made it into the quarter-finals again but only just as they won 3-2 against Waldon Athletic. Louis Kinch (2) and Josh Kite scored for Bow.
Topsham Town were far more convincing as they won 5-0 at Brixham Town. Honiton Town are also through after an excellent 3-1 victory at Morley Rangers.
Colaton Raleigh sprang an upset by winning 3-2 at Heavitree Social United, with Damien Armes (2) and Tony Cox scoring.
The Lord's XI are out though after being beaten 4-2 at the Windmill in Plymouth. Duncan Medlock and Julian Wills scored their goals.
Otterton are through to the area semi-finals of the Devon Intermediate Cup thanks to a 1-0 victory at Culm United. Garry Williams was the match winner.
Matt Shepherd and Jack Bridgeman scored as Sampford Peverell won 2-1 at Silverton, whose Matt Jarrett scored their only goal.
Topsham Town bowed out 5-2 at cup holders Millwey Rise of the Perry Street League.
Alphington gave Division One leaders Chard Town a hard test before going down 3-1. Alphas manager Darren Dack converted a penalty.
Witheridge moved into the top three after a 4-1 victory against Cullompton. Jason Manley (2), Ryan Greenwood and Richard Groom scored for Withy.
The University worked hard to see off bottom-of-the-table Colyton 2-1. Dan Conant and Jose Comacho netted.
Division Two leaders Elmore were much too strong for neighbours Westexe as they won 5-0 with goals from Callum Old (3), Jordan Copp and Kevin Mills.
Pinhoe were 4-1 winners at Clyst Valley in the only other game played as Sidmouth failed to raise a side for their match at Dawlish.
Newton St Cyres, the Division Three leaders, did just enough to win 3-2 at Hemyock. Mark Harris, Matt Yendall and Ti Dimitrov were on target.
Dolphin dropped points for the first time this season as they were held 1-1 at South Zeal. Jimmy Hinds was Dolphin's scorer.
The University clobbered North Tawton 9-1, with Philipp Kainz and Callum Kumar-Shaw bagging hat-tricks. Tom Jones, Luke Barrett and an own goal completed the tally.
There were 2-2 draws between Lympstone and Upottery and Offwell and Sandford, but Ottery St Mary went down 2-1 at Newtown. Scott Gonzales-Halliday was Ottery's marksman.
Four-goal Lee Watkins led the scoring for Heavitree Social United in Division Four as they hammered Seaton 12-0. Chris Smith (3), James Callard (2), Dan Taverner (2) and Dave Brady also scored, while Callum Pope ran the show.
An Alex Hughes hat-trick in the second half earned Woodbury a 4-1 win at Axmouth. Kevin Pitt netted Woodbury's first.
Rob Scott and Guy Hiscock scored the goals that earned Chulmleigh a 2-1 win against the University.
Countess Wear Dynamoes found their scoring touch in Division Five as they brushed Clyst Valley aside 7-2. Tariq El-Zahri (3), Richard Gilbert, Paul Watkins, Damien Densham and Nathan Foggin scored.
Beer Albion benefited from two own goals to beat Lapford 2-1.
Dawlish United took over as Division Six leaders after winning their derby at Langdon 2-1.
Chagford enjoyed a rare goal fest as they won 6-0 at North Tawton. Dan Elphick (3), Andrew Davis (2) and Ollie Squire were the scorers.
Tipton St John underlined their title credentials in Division Seven with a 4-1 victory at Cheriton Fitzpaine. James Gosney, James Youlden, Ben Dawe and Phil Paddison were on target.
Newton St Cyres beat Ottery St Mary 3-2, with Danny Mayho (2) and Chris Heardson scoring. Kieran Jones and Joe Compton netted for the Otters.
Pinhoe are the new Division Eight leaders after they won 3-1 at Langdon.
Bickleigh went goal mad at Folly Gate to win 13-1.
Jack Isaacs grabbed a hat-trick for Bampton in their 5-1 success at Lapford. Neil Clapp and Ian Beanie also scored.
