suffering.

Sheldon, of Sefton Avenue, Mount Gould, indicated 'no plea' to the allegation between May and October last year.

Gareth Warden, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said that the boy, now aged about 14 months, had sustained serious injuries.

Magistrates ruled that the case was so serious it would have to be heard at Plymouth Crown Court.

Sheldon

spoke only to confirm her personal details and indicate her plea. She

was released on unconditional bail to appear before magistrates again on

June 6 while papers are prepared.

Her husband, 30-year-old

Christopher Sheldon, has already appeared before magistrates charged

with assaulting Ethan causing grievous bodily harm with intent over the

same period.

Sheldon, of Mount Batten Way, Plymstock, is also charged with ill-treating or neglecting the boy.

He indicated 'no plea' to the offences and is also due to appear at Plymouth Crown Court at a date to be fixed.

It is understood that baby Ethan allegedly suffered multiple broken bones.
