Mystery over man's serious head injury
Police are investigating after a man was admitted to hospital with a serious head injury.
Officers were called to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth after the 48-year-old was taken in during the evening of Sunday September 2.

The man left The Eagle pub in Cornwall Street at about 8pm and when he returned about an hour later he was found to have a severe injury to the right side of his head.
A police spokesman said: "At this time we cannot confirm that an assault took place but believe that the incident took place in the city centre sometime between 8pm and 9pm."

He remains in hospital at this time where his condition is described as stable.
DC Kev Mortimore said: “Police are trying to piece together his movements from the time he left The Eagle and request that anybody who may have witnessed the incident that caused this injury, to contact police on 101 quoting crime number EC/12/8434.”
