New police commander 'thrilled' to take on role

A new police commander has been appointed to lead policing in Exeter, Mid and East Devon.

Superintendent Chris Eastwood has assumed responsibility for crime and community policing in the area which includes Axminster, Tiverton, Honiton and Exeter. He is supported by a ten-strong team of senior officers including one chief inspector and nine inspectors.

Supt Eastwood joined Devon and Cornwall Police in 1986 and has served in Plymouth, Cornwall and Devon in various roles.

He said: "I am thrilled to take on my new role as commander for Exeter, east and mid Devon.
