New premises give tool business room to grow range
A LEADING tool retailer in Cullompton has enjoyed a growth in business since moving to new premises.
Tools UK South West vacated its shop at Alexandria Industrial Estate for a larger unit formerly occupied by Cullompton Hire Centre, off junction 28 of the M5.
The company was established in 1989 and was acquired by Jeff Hill and Keith Latham in 2007. After expanding significantly, the business outgrew its original premises.
Mr Hill said: "Keith and I both have a lot of experience in the tool retail industry and it was always our aim to eventually start our own business. When the opportunity to take over Tools UK SW arose, it was too good to miss.

"We have been thrilled with how much the business has grown over the years and the move to the new premises will be a crucial step in ensuring that this continues. The new premises are just off junction 28 of the M5, meaning they are very easily accessible, and we have immediately seen the effects of having a prominent location."
Stocking a wide range of tools, towing accessories, winches and hardware, the business has developed a strong reputation across the South West and supplies products to companies across the country and individuals via its websites.
The business has benefited from the convenient and easily accessible location and as a result of the increased customer flow, has launched new product lines including a range of trailer components and caravan accessories and increased stock on tools, hardware and winches.
As reported in last week's Gazette angling shop Cullompton Carp and Coarse is among businesses moving into the premises vacated by Tool UK on the Alexandria estate. The unit is currently being renovated.
