New retail lead for cider voted 'Best Wine'
Cider brand Orchard Pig has secured one of its biggest orders to date and is set to launch into 195 Majestic Wine stores nationwide this month.
The order follows a record sales month for the company, based at West Bradbury near Glastonbury. It saw volumes for July exceed its entire sales for the financial year 2008/9.
Over the past 12 months, its sales have more than doubled.
The retail listing follows the success of Orchard Pig's Truffler cider at a wine festival in May.

Despite the obvious, the apple beverage was declared Best Wine in Show at London's Laithwaites' Vintage Wine Festival.
The 11-strong cider press is behind three bottled and four draught cider varieties and six non-alcoholic apple-based juices.
Existing national retail listings include Waitrose and Tescowhile it is also available on tap at Mitchells & Butlers pubs and a number of London venues.
Its Reveller cider will be sold at Majestic in 12-packs of 50cl bottles.
Andrew Quinlan, who co-founded the business in 2004, said: "We hope to offer their customers our best-selling cider as an alternative to wine."
