North Devon flood risk subsides
THE risk of flooding has fallen significantly in North Devon over the last 24 hours.
Yesterday morning the Journal reported on flood alerts in place for both the Taw and Torridge rivers.
And although a flood alert remains in place for the lower Torridge area the risk of flooding is substantially lower than it was 24 hours ago.
A flood warning, which is one level higher than a flood alert, which was in place for the Taw has been dropped. The river is no longer thought to be at risk of flooding, despite more heavy rain which fell this morning.

A spokesman for the Environment Agency said although river levels in the Torridge had fallen, the river is still sensitive to any further rainfall.
