2012 Olympic gold medal winning shooter Peter Wilson collects MBE
Marksman Peter Wilson, who claimed top honours in the double trap shooting competition at the London 2012 Olympic Games last summer, yesterday collected his MBE, which was awarded in the New Year's Honours List.
Peter, who lives in Dorset, said his life had changed dramatically since winning gold but he was now focused on trying to make the British team for the Rio Games in 2016.

He said: "This is incredible – I can't stop smiling. This has changed my life, this is something else.
"I'm going to do my best to go to Rio. It's not quite as simple as rocking up and doing the business, but it's something I'm aiming towards."

Peter, who comes from the village of Glanvilles Wootton, near Sherborne, secured the gold medal after firing 188 from 200 clays to win the double trap event at his first Games.
He grew up on a Dorset farm and only took up shooting when a snowboarding accident forced him to give up other sports.
Peter is coached by Sheikh Ahmed Al-Maktoum, the Olympic gold medallist in the same event at Athens in 2004 and a member of Dubai's royal family.
The Dorset marksman was the first shooting medallist for Britain since Richard Faulds, who struck gold at Sydney 2000. The British Association of Shooting and Conservation say interest in the sport has soared since Peter secured his gold medal last year.
