PCSO and shoplifting suspect injured during police arrest
A police community support officer has been injured while helping police officers arrest a suspected shoplifter.
The suspect was being detained for allegedly shoplifting on The Strand in Torquay at 11.45am today under Operation Action.

The suspect also received an injury to his head.
Both were taken to Torbay Hospital by ambulance.

The arrested man, aged 30, was from Stockton.
Police say perfume was recovered at scene.
A police spokesperson said: "Operation Action is a high profile anti-shoplifting initiative, run by local police, working with businesses and partner agencies in the run up to Christmas."
