PICTURES: Wet, wet, wet as weather warning is issued
The Met Office this morning issued a weather warning for large parts of the Westcountry.
The Exeter-based forecasters warned that the heavy rain we awoke to this morning is likely to affect the vast majority of Cornwall and Devon, driven by strong southerly winds.
It also warned the public should be aware of the risk of localised surface water flooding, especially in urban areas and affecting roads around the rush hour.
Early this morning, Embankment Road in Plymouth was shut in both directions due to flooding. It has since reopened.
