Parking Chaos
As a resident of Penwill Way in Paignton i am dreading coucil moves to place double yellow lines in one of the buisiest and conjested roads in the area. I refere to The junctions of Hayes road with Whitley road and Penwill Way with Whitley road. For some years we have had a nightmare in parking due to the teachers from Hayes School useing Whitley road as a car park. Our property has no driveway so we have to park on the road. It is a daily battle to beat the teachers for the five parking spots that are available. The council now are putting double yellow lines on the four corners forcing yet more cars up Whitley road. I understand they have to park somwhere but so do i and i pay my council tax and road tax for my area. If the coucil want to help instead of hindering local residents they could turn the green area in Whitley road in to residential parking. This would save them thousands of pounds in maintenance costs and solve a problem at the same time.

“My sympathy is with Kennymac. The council are too quick to restrict parking and provide no alternatives. Kennymac's idea sounds good, but if it involves spending money, don't hold your breath.”
