Something will have to give at Penlee Park today when the two sides that have yet to take their first Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier Division points of the season do battle.

Penzance, who host Ivybridge Town, have done well to put 11 players on the pitch each match this season which has resulted in them losing all four games, conceding a massive 32 goals in the process.

But they have at last secured a manager with former Porthleven boss John Dent, who only resigned his position at Gala Parc late last week, taking over at the helm of the Magpies.

Whether Dent has had time to bring in the players necessary to prevent the Bridgers ending a run of three consecutive defeats remains to be seen.

Ivybridge Town joint manager Graeme Kirkup will not be taking anything for granted as he is aware that his side has only scored twice in those three defeats.

"We are still trying to blend as a side and with a few players coming back it should help the youngsters adapt," explained Kirkup.

Unfortunately, they make the long journey to the far west of Cornwall without two of their most experienced strikers as Jamie Middleton and Joe Truelove are both working but they hope to have former Callington Town striker James Noble available to step up from the second team.

Defending champions Bodmin Town play only their third league game of the season when they travel to unbeaten Witheridge looking to make it three on the trot for Darren Gilbert's Priory Park outfit.

Elburton Villa will be aware that Bovey Tracey celebrated their first points of the season, when they beat Camelford last weekend, as the early league leaders prepare to meet the Moorlanders at Haye Road.

Villa will give a late fitness test on Sam Stevens' knee injury that he picked up against Ivybridge while Martin Finneron is definitely ruled out due to work commitments.

Liskeard Athletic entertain new boys Liverton United but the Blues have lost the services of Joe Jasper, who is on his travels, while Jordan Pearce is suspended but Josh Notman returns after missing the 3-1 victory over Cullompton Rangers.

Saltash United are hoping that Matt Godfree will have recovered from his calf injury in time, for the visit of Falmouth, and that Dave Smith will be ready to begin his season as well.

Torpoint Athletic have Evan Day attending a wedding but Josh Fenwick is hoping to return to action when they entertain Cullompton.

Rangers have won just once in their five league games while Point have drawn two of their four but visiting manager Dane Bunney has been busy making new signings and hopes include Tom Barwell, Andrew Hawkins, Matt Brookman and Joe Letori.
