People in Braunton give their views on the possibility of a Free Primary School being set up in the village
Charlotte Brown, 16, of Braunton, said: "I think it is a great idea because all the schools around here are based on the same rules because they are run by the county council."
She also felt a Free School would be great because staff and parents could have their input and do it their own way.
She said: "Maybe children might enjoy school a lot more because it is different."
Charlotte Merrilees, 36, of Braunton, said: "As long as the people running it have the children's interests first and foremost, I would be happy to send my children to a Free School."

She liked the idea of a traditional primary school and added: "When they are young children it is nice to have that village feel."
Patrick Durkan, 52, of Braunton, said he didn't know much about the concept of a Free School but pointed out that his elder son had needed a lot of specialist help to get through his years at primary school.
He said: "He struggled at school for probably four years and both he and the school needed a lot of specialist help because he is autistic so I am not sure how a Free School would cope with a child like that with special needs."
He wondered whether a Free School would have to buy in the help of specialists such as an educational psychologist.
