Harry Stone was more than a little disappointed when a photograph of him meeting David Cameron in Plymouth at the weekend failed to come out.

But the precocious eight-year-old "chased after" the Prime Minister through the Armed Forces Day crowds with camera-wielding father Tim for a second shot.

Yealmpton Primary School pupil Harry was sporting a military outfit bought for him by his grandmother and aunt for Saturday's celebrations.

"He sleeps in it," said his father, 42. "He's fascinated by everything military."

But Harry wasn't alone in documenting his day on film. Ollie Adams managed to get security guards to let him shake the PM's hand during a walkabout on the Hoe. And he even repeated the feat a second time to secure a photograph.

"I recognised who he was straight away," said Ollie, who attends Plymouth's Bickleigh Down Primary School. "I shook his hand and then I came back and ran up to my mum and dad and said, 'I shook the Prime Minister's hand!' Then my mum wanted a picture so we went back to find him."

Mr Cameron was surrounded by a ring of private security guards, personal aides and police officers, but he was more than happy to stop and pose with his arm around Ollie's shoulder.
