Players return to boost Tiverton
Tiverton boss Charlie Burt hopes his side will be at full strength for this weekend’s key clash with Exeter Saracens.
Last weekend’s visit of St Ives was postponed on Saturday morning as the pitch was frozen.
Director of rugby Burt expects that game – between the bottom two sides in the division – to be played on February 25.
But that will have a knock-on effect on their home Devon Intermediate Cup quarter-final against Okehampton, which was scheduled to take place that day.
Before then, however, Tivvy make the trip to Exeter to play the side two places above them after dropping down the division in recent months.
“We’ve got two players back this week who were unavailable last weekend. Centre Dave Harris was injured and winger Hamish Pike was unavailable,” said Burt.
“Hopefully we’ll be as close as full strength as we can be.
“It’s a big game for us and we’ve just got to keep playing as we have been, with the same spirit and attitude.
“We were hoping to start that on Saturday against St Ives but we now have three games in a row against sides in the lower part of the table, with Sarries followed by Devonport Services and then St Ives in the re-arranged game.”
Of last weekend’s postponement, Burt said: “The pitch was frozen hard at training on Thursday. We waited until Saturday morning in the hope the warmer weather would arrive but we had another couple of frosts and we called it off at 9am.”
