Plymouth Raiders sign 'exciting prospect' American guard Jarvis Jones
PLYMOUTH Raiders coach Gavin Love has added young American guard Jarvis Jones to his fast-growing squad.
Jones is untried in the BBL Championship, but he comes to Plymouth with a great reputation at Eastern Tennessee State University.
Love said Jones (pictured) had been one of his targets earlier in the summer, having done his homework on Memphis-born Jones, believes his latest signing has a 'style that is tailor-made for the BBL and for us (Raiders)'.
"Jarvis is a versatile player and can hold down the point guard and shooting guard positions," said Love.

"Yes, it's his rookie season and as such it will take him a little time to settle in, but I believe he is ready for the BBL.
"Although, of course, it will be a learning curve for him as it is with any first-year player.
"Jarvis had a good college career and comes to us at the right time, as while he is not an established name over here yet, he is hungry for success and that's what we want in our team at Raiders.
"I'm looking forward to working with Jarvis who is a very dedicated athlete."
Jones, who is 6ft 3in, will be competing for the guard places with head coach Love's other new recruits to the Pavilions side, Gabe Haskins and Donald Robinson.
But Jones is not fazed by the prospect, just grateful for the chance to prove himself in Britain's top basketball league.
He said: "I'm so grateful that my basketball career is starting with Raiders.
"It's like a dream come true for me.
"And I'm very excited about meeting my team-mates and playing with them this coming season."
Jones averaged 16 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game for ETSU last season and leaves is alma mater with a glowing testimonial from university coach Murry Bartow.
"Jarvis is capable of hitting shots from outside, but can also take the ball to the basket off the dribble," said Bartow.
"He's got ice water in his veins late in games and he hit several game-winning, clutch shots for us during his time here.
"He's also a great person and will be a huge asset for any team."
