Plymouth arthritis support group raises awareness of the condition
A LOCAL support group for people with arthritis is hoping to raise awareness of the condition during a national awareness day.
Next Saturday, October 12, marks World Arthritis Day and the theme this year is Living better, ageing well.
The Plymouth branch of the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society (NASS), is making sure that they do this with their exercise and hydrotherapy sessions.
The key to managing ankylosing spondylitis (AS), a form of inflammatory arthritis, is exercise and NASS Plymouth meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at Derriford Hospital.
Tuesday 9th & Wednesday 10th. Carol (with over 16yrs experience) has 10% off - facials. Pedicures. Manicures. Body wraps. Spray tans. Waxing. Tinting. Perming

The evening is not only a great way to manage AS but also to meet other people with the condition and share experiences.
AS affects 200,000 people in the UK alone. That represents twice the number of people in the UK who have Parkinson's Disease or Multiple Sclerosis.
