“Tom Daley has done well in the sport of diving and helped put Plymouth on the map. He is NOT a hero. A hero is someone who has put their own life at risk in an attempt to rescue or protect others. Another Own Goal here Herald Im afraid.”

“His diving had already suffered prior to London 2012 , hence why the GB coach told him to rein in his media activities and concentrate on his diving, he didn't and the rest as they say is history.
Oh dear 18 yrs of age and mummy is still going out with him”

“He's certainly living the highlife for a mere schoolboy. Wonder where he makes his money - I thought he was supposed to be an amateur sportsman? If he's not careful, he's going to get swallowed up by his media interests and his diving will suffer because of it. I'm not expecting him to be competing in Rio, merely commentating for the Beeb.”
