Last Red Nose Day, 65 small groups benefited from grants ranging between £500 and £1,000.
So whether you are a lunch club, dads and lads group or a community festival we want to hear from you.
With the help of the Devon Community Foundation, The Herald make sure the cash gets to where it is needed.
Editor Ian Wood said: "The Herald is delighted to team up with Comic Relief to give local community groups a chance to stake their claim for a share of £50,000.
"Our partnership has helped secure this funding for Plymouth and we now call on our readers to help us identify the organisations that most deserve a helping hand."
Any local group with an income of less than £5,000 is welcome to apply for a share of the fund.
Laura Hewitt, from the Devon Community Foundation, said: "Red Nose Day Community Cash is a fantastic scheme for grassroots projects in Plymouth.
"There are so many groups doing absolutely amazing things and making a real difference in their local community, and this a real chance for them to get the funding they deserve.
"We really urge people to apply now and not miss out on this great opportunity."
Applications will be taken from February 1 until March 15 through the Devon Community Fund.
Sue Wicks, UK grants manager for Comic Relief, said: "We've funded some truly inspiring projects in the city in previous years, and we know from our long experience that local groups can make a huge impact at the heart of their communities with a small amount of money. Thanks to these groups, money raised through Red Nose Day can make a real difference where it's needed most. I urge as many groups as possible to get their applications in now for their chance to get a grant from the £50,000 on offer."
You can find the application form from February 1, 2013, at http://devoncf.com/apply-for-a-grant/red-nose-day-community-cash/
