She said: "Jay and I have made the decision to step down from managing the Certini Team.
"We're so busy with running the business, the Fully Sussed Youth team and the South West Youth team that we need to hand over Certini to someone else.
"Jay and I will still race under the banner of Certini when we get the chance, so it's really just the admin stuff we're handing over."
Certini riders Gary Andrews and Kim Long will take over the management roles.
Meanwhile, the city team did well in the Stinger mountain bike duathlon at Newnham Park.
The event consists of a 5km off-road run, a 20km mountain bike race and a final, brutal 3km run.
A record 165 entrants took part with Team Certini, who hosted the event, enjoying podium places through both Hortons.
Maddie was first in the solo women's category, while her husband topped the podium in the veteran male race.
Kim Long finished second in the veteran women's event, while Certini's Gary and Lisa Andrews, racing together for the first time, and in Lisa's first competitive event, took third place in the mixed pairs.
Harry Smith took his first podium spot of 2013, third in the men's teams and Harry Forshaw, part of the Certini junior squad, took an amazing second place in the solo men, jumping from third on the final run.
