Plymouth police carry out stop checks on motorists
CROOKS who take to the roads were targeted by police in an operation in Plympton and Plymstock.
Operation Juggler saw Plymouth neighbourhood officers join forces with traffic cops, as well as representatives from Trading Standards, VOSA, HM Customs and Excise and Plymouth City Council waste licensing officers to target everything from illegal use of red diesel and unlicensed waste carriers to rogue traders, metal thieves and untaxed drivers.

PCSO Michelle Heath said the operation was in Vicarage Road and Edwards Drive in Plympton, and Billacombe Road in Plymstock. She said: "We were mainly targeting works vehicles and we invited our partner agencies as it gives them the opportunity to carry out their own spot checks."

i cant see why the cameras cant do this job as surely its not so much the speeders as the users of m/phones.

“Good for mr Plod now more please , Hit the prats on phones and mums outside schools abandoning there cars so little precioues does not have to walk to far. If you have nothing to hide you will welcome this pro active aproach to making the roads safer. Chavs with no insurance , illegals with no liscence and the oh so evedent bad driver take note please as Mr Plod is out there.”

“its a shame that i had to stop by the police officers in stag lodge yesterday to alert them to the fully laiden lorry doing 15mph through stag lodge and swerving in both lanes as he was on the phone !!! he went right past them as well and they did nothing.hope the driver of the white with green tailgate tipper lorry reg wk02 gets stopped eventually before he kills someone.”
