Police appeal after woman's bag stolen in Plymouth city centre

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman had her handbag stolen.

The incident happened on November 30 between 4.15pm and 4.45pm when a woman, in her 40s, got off a First bus on Royal Parade, near Argos, and placed her handbag on the floor because she was not feeling very well, officers said.

A couple, believed to be either Polish or Russian, then picked up the black leather bag and made their way up to the top of Royal Parade, police said.

The male is described as being white, around 30-years-old, of a stocky build, around 5ft 8ins tall, and wearing a blue body warmer. The female is also described as being white and around 30-years-old, of a skinny build, around 5ft 2ins tall and wearing a white jacket. The bag contained £140 in cash, keys and a purse, the police said.
