Police hunt Torquay stag party after Blackpool attack

POLICE believe a stag party from Torquay was involved in a serious assault while on a trip to Blackpool.

A teenaged boy has been left with serious head injuries and bad scarring after the attack in a bar on Blackpool's promenade.

Now police have released blurry CCTV images of two of the Torquay stag party group who they want to talk to in connection with the incident which happened at Yates' Wine Lodge, Blackpool, just before midnight on Friday, August 10.

A Blackpool police spokesman said: "The victim, an 18-year-old local man, had entered the pub and made his way to the bar where the offenders and group of friends were stood.

"As he approached the bar, he was assaulted by being struck to the side of the head causing a serious and deep laceration to the side of his face leaving him badly scarred.

"The offenders and their group then fled the bar. It is thought the people police want to speak to were in Blackpool on a stag do and are from the Torquay area."

Det Con Stuart Reid, from Blackpool CID, said: "I would appeal to anyone who recalls the incident to contact the police as they may have information that could assist us.

"I am also keen to trace the two men in the pictures. If you know these men, tell us who they are.

"This is a nasty assault on an innocent man and the people responsible need to be caught and brought to justice."
