Police officer charged with covering up arrest and hiding weapon
A police officer has appeared in court charged with covering up an arrest and hiding an offensive weapon.
Sarah Cohen, 35, from Lifton, faced two charges when she appeared before North and East Devon magistrates court.
She is accused of intending to pervert the course of public justice at Meldon on Dartmoor in November 2011 by concealing an arrest and an offensive weapon.
The officer, who is currently suspended from duty, is also charged with wilfully misconducting herself by carrying out the alleged acts while acting as a police officer.

The case was sent to crown court and Cohen, who has yet to enter pleas to the charges, was bailed until later this month.
A spokesman for the constabulary said: "Devon and Cornwall police Professional Standards Department are carrying out a criminal investigation supervised by the Independent Police Complaints Commission into the conduct of a police constable who is stationed in Cornwall."
