Police warn of spate of heating oil thefts in Devon and Cornwall
Devon and Cornwall Police have urged homeowners and businesses to be vigilant after a spate of heating oil thefts.
The force said it had received 14 complaints of oil thefts – 11 of which were from Cornwall – between March 8 and 15.

A police spokesman said owners could make life more difficult for would-be thieves by fitting good quality locks to the tanks and securing gates to make access difficult.
Anyone with information about the latest thefts is asked to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
