Positively Plymouth, £53,250 brand, ditched after two years
At the time the CDC said Positively Plymouth had a "long term future".
The CDC folded that year but handed over responsibility to Destination Plymouth who continued to use the brand to market the city.

The Positively Plymouth website was launched in March 2011 to promote events and attract investment.
The site is no longer live.
Plymouth City Council told the BBC: "Brands need to evolve over time to remain fresh and current and much has happened over the last three years to provide Plymouth with a more powerful external narrative.
"Core messages and themes identified in the Positively Plymouth strategy will be retained and amplified in an updated approach."

“Has nobody out there read 1984?
Doublespeak, ministry of truth, Tom Daley's splash; Orwells prediction has certainly come true in Plymouth.
Positively Plymouth???
It's hard to be positive when one's city of culture is about to be awash with industrial waste from all over the country and when one's local politicians fail time and again to reflect the true wishes of those who granted them power.
Did we ever discover what happened to the citybus money?
Plymouth, space of waste; city of aggro-culture!”

“How about "Crazy Paving Plymouth"? Come and see one of the most neglected city centres in the country. Bring your wellies. And try not to break your neck on any of the thousands of broken and loose paving slabs.”

“I could have done that logo for nothing on my pc with photoshop in 10 minutes if they had asked me . What planet do these people live on in their heads ?
Would the person who wanted this so much have paid for it out of their own money ?
There is also a site called "worth 1000" where a prize of about 50 quid goes on a competition for such things with a lot of proffesionals taking part and the sponsor gets to choose the winner .
There again there is the "blue peter" kind of option that gives kids a chance to do it .
But what the heck.... spend nearly 60 grand to some firm . The council are easily conned and not just by logo makers.”

“Herald why are you deleting my comments?
Fact James Brent the current Chairman of Plymouth Argyle was the Chairman of CDC when this branding was launched. Why do you want to hide that?”

“Plymouth City Development Company - I believe the Chairman of CDC at that time was none other than James Brent now Chairman of Plymouth Argyle! What chance do they have of surviving relegation with a Chairman that can support spending money like that on a brand that could have been designed on a fag packet in a tea break!”

“Here's a POSITIVE message to Plymouth City Council, STOP wasting our money.... There is another two organisations we could cheerfully be rid of... Destination Plymouth and The Plymouth City Centre Company, how about it Plymouth City Council ?”
