Royal Naval submariners of HMS Talent based at Devonport welcomed Princess Anne on board yesterday.

The distinguished visitor, who is the boat's Royal Sponsor, was met by the Naval Base Commander, Commodore Stuart Little, and received a royal salute while she inspected the mustered sailors.

HMS Talent's commanding officer, Commander John Aitken, said: "I was very pleased to be able to welcome Her Royal Highness and greatly appreciate the time she has taken for us."

During her visit, Princess Anne also took the time to present Leading Seaman Hackett with the Fleet Commander's Commendation for Exemplary Service.
