Six fire engines were sent to tackle a burning house in Somerset late yesterday.

Smoke was spotted wafting from the roof of the three-storey, mid-terraced house on Sherborne Road, Yeovil, at just before 4pm.

Flames had broken out on the first and second floor. Two pumps were sent from the town but when crews arrived they called for two more engines.

More engines were also sent from Yeovil and Martock along with an incident support unit from Street.
