Protestors say no to Northam marina development at Knapp House
A group of angry protestors gathered this afternoon near to where a new marina development could be built on the edge of Northam.
The proposed development at Knapp House, off Churchill Way, could be approved at a Torridge District Council (TDC) plans committee meeting tomorrow.
The group gathered as councillors arrived at the site to review the plans and landscape of the site before having to make a decision.
TDC's website currently has over 600 objections to the development, which some have dubbed as a new village.

The plans reveal proposals for a new marina, hotel, medical centre, food store, community hall, retail units and cafe, care home and dementia unit, assisted living units, 295 dwellings, 80 holiday dwellings and play areas.
One of the protestors Jeremy Bell said: "There have been so many applications for this site and enough is enough. You can't move every morning for the amount of traffic as it is, this road the one of the major problems.
"This area couldn't cope with a few new houses let alone hundreds.
"The marina would just not work because of the tides, it is ridiculous."
Another protestor Ernie Tomlinson added: "The applications are just getting repetitive and it is just a waste of money for the tax payer as they keep going to appeal and being refused. This would be a new village and this green belt between Northam and Appledore needs to be saved."
The planning application will be heard by the plans committee tomorrow at 9.30am in Bideford Town Hall.
