Proud Peggy heads to the palace to collect her MBE

Dress as a prince or princess
To celebrate the forthcoming Royal Wedding of William and Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey on Friday, April 29, Exeter Racecourse is offering free entry to anyone who comes dressed as a Prince or Princess at its race meeting on Tuesday, April 26. General manager Alice Everitt said: "It's going to be a week to remember so we thought we would join in the Royal Wedding celebrations by offering free entry to anyone who makes a real effort and dresses as a prince or princess. Old wedding dresses, velvet trousers, ruffled shirts, crowns and tiara – anything goes on what should be a really fun day out at the races." The first race is off at 2.10pm and a free bus goes leaves and return from Exeter St David's and Exeter Bus Station. Exciting start for Molly
The South Western Association of the WPCS (Welsh Pony Cob Society) show held at Yeovil proved to be an exciting start to the season for show rider and producer Molly Simpson and the beautiful highland mare, Holmedown Chicago, owned by Wendy Bridges. The pair ended up supreme of show, after winning their open ridden class and championship. They also picked up the NPS silver medal qualifier as well. "It was made even more special because this is a new venture for me, producing from home, after five years of riding for an Exeter producer," said a delighted Molly. "This was our first outing since Horse Of the Year show last year and we couldn't have asked for more."
Exempt hunting
The Devon and Somerset Staghounds meet at 11am tomorrow at Blackmoor Gate; Monday 11 at Staple Farm, Bicknoller, Joint meet with Quantock Staghounds, Collection for Countryside Alliance; Tuesday 12 at Five Cross Ways Dulverton and Thursday 14 at * North Ley, Exford. * No horse transport at the meet please.
