Purse is eager to see swift resolution
Plymouth Argyle captain Darren Purse wants a speedy resolution to the saga over his footballing future.
The 35-year-old centre-back has been told he can leave the Pilgrims during the January transfer window. Argyle have taken that step with the aim of using some of the money they save on paying Purse's salary to make two or three additions to their squad.
A couple of npower League Two clubs are believed to be showing interest in the experienced defender. It is believed Purse was close to a move out of Home Park in November, before the Football League's deadline for loan signings. However, Argyle were not able to sign a replacement then, so the deal was not completed.
Purse said: "I'm taking every game as it comes. I enjoy playing down here. There are one or two irons in the fire at the moment.

"I don't think anything is going to happen in the next week or so. After that, when we have a free week, it might all change, but at this moment in time I'm a Plymouth player," Purse added.
"I will carry on playing as well as I can do. If anything is going to happen, I want it done sooner rather than later. It's the first time in my career I have been put on the transfer list. I understand why it has been done, and I hope there will be a conclusion to it over the next week or two."
Burnley attacker Alex MacDonald, who has had two loan spells at Home Park, is a transfer target for Plymouth manager Carl Fletcher in January, while Southampton's former Argyle midfielder Ryan Dickson is also understood to be a potential loan signing for the Pilgrims. However, Fletcher has made it clear that he cannot add to his squad without making space by parting with players first.
