Record A Level results as students learn of grades
STUDENTS have been celebrating their A Level results today.
Newton Abbot College principal Gareth Davies said they had seen record results.
"Students were today celebrating another year of record A Level results" he said.
"The pass rate was 99 per cent, with 80 per cent of all grades at A*-C grade and a quarter of all grades at the top A* and A grades.

"The average point score per entry was 223 points, well above the national average and the highest which the College has ever achieved."
Students at Teign School, Kingsteignton, also reported their best set of A Level results.
Students at all levels achieved exceptionally well with a 99 per cent pass rate and more than half, 52 per cent, gaining A*-B.
With nearly 300 entries, almost a third of all grades (28 per cent) were at A* or A.
Headteacher, Mark Woodlock, said: "As a school, we are absolutely delighted with the stunning successes achieved by the students.
"These are an exceptional set of results that illustrate the talent that the students possess, the excellence of the teaching they have experienced and strength of the relationships that have been built within the School.
"The vast majority of students have achieved their first choice university place, with students of all abilities now well placed to pursue their chosen careers."
