A PARADE will mark the start of Remembrance Sunday in Newton Abbot on Sunday.

The event, arranged by the Royal British Legion, commemorates the contribution of servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts. The parade will move off at 10.30am from Courtenay Street and will be led by the City of Exeter Pips and Drums Band.

Standard Bearers will attend and the hymn Who is on the Lords Side will be sung at 10.45am and a collection for the Poppy Day fund will take place.

The Last Post will be played at 10.58am and this will be followed by a two minutes silence at 11am. A wreath laying ceremony will also take place.
