Ribbon cut on new £2m bus service
A new £2 million luxury bus service has been launched linking Torbay with the South Hams and Plymouth.
Stagecoach staff celebrated the new Stagecoach Gold operation with a special roadshow and launch events.
Michael Watson, managing director of Stagecoach South West, cut the ribbon on one of the brand new vehicles and said: "I can't wait to finally see these buses out on the road — feedback from our Gold roadshows has been overwhelmingly positive so our drivers are looking forward to welcoming lots of new customers aboard."
The fleet will run seven days a week up to every 30 minutes between Torquay, Paignton and Totnes and then up to every hour to either Plymouth or Dartmouth. Bus users have been getting a preview of the new bus service in a series of roadshows. The luxurious fleet of nine buses feature leather seats and free Wi-Fi and come with guaranteed service standards.
