Richard III and Devon
One of the most controversial British monarchs,Richard III most certainly had his say in Devon. He had travelled into Exeter personally to punish those who had risen against him. Perhaps, the monarch did enjoy the beauty of the great landscape of the Devonshire area. Was the king influenced by the great beauty around him to ease the law for the common people? I'm sure that this is being debated still.Certainly, the people will have their late monarch in mind when his remains will be interred again, and can celebrate their heritage. Somehow when I envision the rolling hills where Warhorse was filmed, it invites scenery where the Plantagenet King rode out into battle for the last time on August 22, 1485. I have written a few sonnets to pay this tribute to the King, and another beloved liege as well. Please enjoy such.
