Riders find dog 'deliberately' hanged

Police are appealing for information after they discovered a dog had been hanged in a "deliberate act".

The lurcher was found by a group of horse riders at a property on Stonage Lane, Haselbury Plucknett, Somerset.

Officers believe the animal was "killed deliberately in a cruel act" and are asking anyone who may have been in the area to come forward.

Inspector Jackie Gold said: "The death of an animal is always upsetting when it may have been done intentionally.
